New Zealand international Katrina Grant is to become the first player to face a disciplinary hearing in the trans Tasman netball competition's eight-year history.
The Central Pulse captain has been referred to the ANZ Championship's disciplinary officer for alleged misconduct 10 days after her team drew 55-55 with fellow Kiwi outfit Southern Steel.
Post-match television footage showed Grant speaking heatedly with match referee Jono Bredin.
A Trans Tasman Netball League statement said the hearing will be held on Wednesday afternoon.
The Pulse faded in the final quarter of their match against the Steel after leading by seven goals with 10 minutes remaining.
The Steel and the Pulse are both tied on eight points with one match remaining until play-offs, with the Steel third on a superior goal difference.
The top three teams in the New Zealand conference advance to the play-offs beginning on June 6.
It's the second time in a week that the trans-Tasman league has issued a disciplinary notice.
Tactix coach Sue Hawkins was reprimanded last week for televised complaints about the umpiring during her team's 68-49 loss to the NSW Swifts, after the Christchurch-based Tactix copped over 20 more penalties than their Australian counterparts.
A former Australian international who coached England for four years until 2011, Hawkins pleaded guilty to breaching the ANZ Championship's code of conduct.
