The Greens say Queensland voters have delivered the party its highest vote ever in a state election.
The Greens secured 8.42 per cent of the vote after Queenslanders went to the polls on Saturday.
"There was a massive shift in public opinion in Queensland in this election," The Greens leader Christine Milne said.
"I am delighted that Queenslanders delivered for The Greens the highest vote we have had in a state election."
However the party has failed to win a seat.
Ms Milne attributed that to Queensland's electoral system and called for an upper house in the sunshine state.
"How ridiculous is it that The Greens achieved more primary votes than the Palmer United Party and the Katter's Australian Party (KAP) thrown in together," she said.
"And yet the KAP gets two seats.
"That is because there is no proportional representation in Queensland."
In regards to the impact the LNP's election defeat would have on its federal counterparts, Ms Milne said ousted Premier Campbell Newman and Prime Minister Tony Abbott were two peas in the same pod.
"Kick this mob out is Queensland's message to Abbott and to Newman and I think that's the message the whole of Australia wanted to send as well," she said.
