Greens vote surges in Batman

Labor MP David Feeney appears likely to lose his Melbourne seat of Batman to the Greens.

A new poll shows the Greens are on track to seize the Victorian seat of Batman from Labor.

The Lonergan research poll gives the Greens' Alex Bhathal 41 per cent of the primary vote, ahead of Labor frontbencher David Feeney on 28 per cent, with the Liberals' George Souris on 23 cent.

Based on voter-stated preference flows, the Greens would win the seat with 55 per cent of the two-party preferred vote.
