Greens' want $500 million renewable agency

The Greens want to set up an authority, named Renew Australia, to reform the energy market and phase out fossil fuel generated power.

The Australian Greens want to set up an agency to drive the nation's renewable energy future.

Greens MP Adam Bandt presented a private member's bill to parliament on Monday to establish a $500 million authority to help reach the party's target of 90 per cent renewables by 2030.

"We are in the middle of a climate emergency," he said.
