It couldn't get any worse for Greg Bird - or so the NRL star thought.

Gold Coast Titans have confirmed Bird has suffered a knee injury at his first pre-season training session just hours before facing a Titans disciplinary hearing on Thursday.

Bird is believed to have suffered a minor medial strain but the full extent of the injury is not expected to be revealed until scans are held in the coming days.

The NSW Origin forward will also sweat on the results of the hearing he fronted along with teammate James Roberts on Thursday.

The hearing concluded late on Thursday but the Titans said they could not release the findings until Friday after they were ratified by the board.

Bird faces a hefty fine and the prospect of losing the co-captaincy after he was issued with an infringement notice for urinating in public on Sunday night, a day after his wedding.

Young flyer Roberts also appeared after being arrested in late October following a boozy night out.

He had charges of public nuisance and obstruction dropped in a Gold Coast court on Wednesday.

"The finalisation of the process will occur overnight where the Titans board members will be contacted to ratify the recommendations of the disciplinary committee," a Titans statement said of the hearing's outcome.

"The Titans will formally announce the outcome at some stage tomorrow."

A Titans spokesman confirmed Bird damaged his knee at his first session on Thursday morning.

"Bird did not complete his first session back after injuring his knee in a tackle and medical staff believe he has a minor injury (strain) to his medial ligament," he said.

"He will be sent for precautionary scans in the next 2 days."
