Greg Eden scores five tries for Castleford

English winger Greg Eden has scored five tries in Castleford's Super League win over Warrington.

Former Brisbane NRL winger Greg Eden scored a club record five tries as Castleford moved six points clear at the top of the Super League with a 36-16 victory over Warrington.

The Englishman, who played seven games for the Broncos last year, took his Super League tally for the season to 30 to ensure Daryl Powell's rampant side heaped more misery on Wolves coach Tony Smith.

A fourth consecutive defeat leaves last season's grand finalists in 10th position, two points outside the top eight with six matches remaining before the cut-off.

They face a seemingly make-or-break Challenge Cup quarter-final against Wigan on Saturday.

However, electric Eden can do no wrong after returning from the NRL following a disappointing spell in Australia.

His new scoring exploit made him the first Castleford player to score five tries in a Super League game.

And he finished one short of equalling the competition record of six set by Lesley Vainikolo for Bradford against Hull in September 2005.
