Andrew Bogut's Golden State Warriors have been accused of cowardly basketball by LA Clippers star Blake Griffin, as the fallout continues from their fiery NBA clash on Christmas Day.

Griffin and Golden State's Draymond Green were both ejected from the match won 105-103 by hosts the Warriors.

In the latest development, the NBA has declared the match officials were wrong to eject Griffin and it has also fined Green $US15,000 ($A17,000) for failing to leave the court in a timely manner after been sent off for elbowing Griffin.

Bogut, who scored 10 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, has been accused by some of goading leading Clippers' scorer Griffin into getting a second technical foul and automatic ejection when they tussled early in the fourth quarter.

The Australian centre was also issued a tech foul for grabbing Griffin.

All Star Griffin later slammed the Warriors and the refereeing.

"I didn't do anything and I got thrown out of the game," Griffin said.

"(Referees) fell for it. To me that's cowardly basketball."

NBA basketball operations president Rod Thorn concurred that the refs got it wrong with their ruling over Griffin in his push and shove with Bogut.

"After a league review of the Clippers-Warriors game, we have come to the conclusion that Blake Griffin should not have been ejected," said Thorn.

"A common foul should have been called on Griffin for initially attempting to dislodge the Warriors' Andrew Bogut and a technical foul should have been assessed to Bogut for grabbing Griffin by the shirt and wrestling with him."

The statement was some vindication for Clippers coach Doc Rivers, who was irate at Griffin's ejection.

"I thought we were kicking their butt and they went to something else," Rivers said. "We have to have better composure and keep playing."

Bogut agreed the referees overreacted in giving Griffin his marching orders.

"I was trying to box him out," Bogut said. "He's a tough offensive rebounder. Just a little physicality. I think it should have been a foul on each of us and just move on," he said.

The match ended with irked Clipper Chris Paul grabbing the ball out of Bogut's hands.

As the two exchanged heated words, the Clippers' Matt Barnes shoved Bogut from behind and that escalated into yells from coaches and players at both teams at each other as they left the floor.

The next clash between the two teams on January 30 in Los Angeles is likely to draw plenty of attention.
