GST review will be released next week

Treasurer Scott Morrison says a review of the way in which the GST is carved up among the states and territories will be released next week.

A review into how GST payments are made to states and territories will be released next week, Treasurer Scott Morrison says.

The government commissioned the Productivity Commission review after strident complaints from Western Australia, whose GST share dropped dramatically due to the mining boom but didn't rise quickly when the boom was over.

"We will release that next week and I will have more to say about that then," Mr Morrison told reporters in Sydney on Friday.
