Tommy Haas will highlight his final season on the ATP tour at age 39 with a concluding Wimbledon appearance after receiving a wildcard into the grass-court major on Wednesday.
Haas, now tournament director of the Indian Wells Masters, is making a farewell tour of events in 2017 with an eye on wrapping up his career in late autumn.
The German has played at the All England Club for two decades, reaching the 2009 semi-finals where he lost to Roger Federer.
The 2016 junior champion Denis Shapovalov also got free entry.
In the women's draw, former junior winner Laura Robson was handed a wildcard as were fellow Brits Heather Watson and Naomi Broady.
Three wildcards for each event are still to be announced.
