Radio shock jock Ray Hadley and his wife say they are very distressed at reports about apprehended violence orders (AVOs) arising within the family.
While Ray and Suzanne Hadley have confirmed in a statement Mrs Hadley had lodged AVO applications, they have since been withdrawn.
"The media reports have been very distressing for members of Ray's and Suzanne's family," the statement issued on Friday night said.
The pair say they are disappointed their privacy has not been respected.
"Suzanne has been particularly upset as at the time Suzanne spoke to police, she sought and was given an assurance that the matter would be treated confidentially," the statement read.
It emerged on Friday Mr Hadley and his son, Daniel, who is a police officer stationed in Sydney's west, were due to face Hornsby Local Court on March 4 after Mrs Hadley spoke to officers on Thursday afternoon.
But Mrs Hadley again spoke with police and the AVOs were dropped, police media told AAP.
According to Fairfax Media, an email was sent to 2GB staff on Thursday night saying: "Ray is unwell. Luke Grant will host mornings tomorrow."
Mr and Mrs Hadley, after 20 years of marriage, are going through a "difficult time".
"They are working together amicably and privately to resolve matters between them and to ensure that those affected, in particular their children, suffer as little as possible," their statement read.
The couple have asked that the media allow them some privacy.
