Pakistan offspinner Mohammad Hafeez has failed in unofficial testing of his bowling action in India after six of his deliveries were found to have elbow extension of over 15 degrees.

Hafeez had opted for unofficial testing at a laboratory accredited by the International Cricket Council in Chennai earlier this week before going to the ICC for an official test of his bowling action.

According to the laboratory's report, four of Hafeez's six deliveries over the wicket were beyond the allowed 15 degrees elbow extension. His first two deliveries, around the wicket, were also measured at 17 and 19 degrees.

Hafeez was suspended last month from bowling in international cricket, but still has a chance to make it to the World Cup next month as a batsman.
