Half of Aussie adults want to shed weight

A survey by the Heart Foundation and Cancer Council Victoria shows that 14pct of Aussie adults aren't doing any exercise, and nearly half want to lose weight.

One in seven Aussie adults aren't doing any exercise and almost half are trying to lose weight, a survey by the Heart Foundation and Cancer Council Victoria has found.

The annual survey of more than 2,000 adults aged between 25 and 49 found 43 per cent are trying to lose weight, with one in three overweight or obese people describing themselves as being of average weight.

While 14 per cent of adults didn't do any exercise at all, more than a quarter of those aged in their mid- to late-40s were found to be the most active.
