Barry Hall says he has copped plenty of flak in social media this week after his comments about two of his former clubs meeting in this weekend's AFL grand final.
The former Sydney captain says he is a Swans man but barracked for the Bulldogs as a kid and would love to see them win on Saturday as it would be great for the competition.
"I haven't checked my phone for two days because I've copped a hiding." 'Hall said.
He captained the Swans 2005 premiership-winning side and was the club's leading goalkicker for seven straight seasons.
However, the combative key forward spent the last two seasons of his career at the Bulldogs after exiting the Swans under a cloud.
He said his relationship with Sydney is now rosy and that it was his own stupidity that led to his departure from the club at the end of the 2009 season.
The Swans lost patience with Hall after several undisciplined on-field acts of aggression which resulted in multiple trips to the tribunal and suspensions.
He said now he was older he viewed things differently to what he did at the time he left Sydney.
"I wouldn't have been in that position at the Sydney Swans if I wasn't stupid and stated whacking people on the field," Hall said.
"I wasn't happy with the way I was treated and the way I was exited from the football club.
"If you take responsibility in what you do things are a lot easier to deal with.
"I didn't at that stage and I was filthy with the cub and wanted to kill everyone in it
"i just wanted to go to the Western Bulldogs and prove them all wrong .and thankfully evey time we played against them I kicked a few goals, so I was pretty happy with that.
""But in saying that I go back to he club now and it's all rosy."
