Australian rookie pro Hannah Green has strengthened her claims to an LPGA Tour card quest, finishing in a tie for third on the secondary Symetra Tour.

Green shot a closing three-under-par 69 to finish at 10 under, two shots behind the winner, Thailand's Chorphaka Jaengkit (70), at the Decatur-Forsyth Classic in Illinois on Sunday.

Already a one-time winner on the tour, the 20-year-old West Australian rose to fifth on the season money list with $US36,899 ($A48,400) in earnings - with LPGA Tour cards on offer to the top 10 at the end of the season.

A former teammate of current LPGA rising stars Su Oh and Minjee Lee on the national amateur squad, Green secured for fourth top-10 result from nine starts.
