Hannah just hoping to make cut in WA Open

LPGA-bound Hannah Green is looking to cap a brilliant year by making the cut against the men in this week's Western Australian Open.

Despite being in the best form of her life, Hannah Green isn't harbouring any ambitions of winning this week's Western Australian Open against the men at Royal Perth.

The 20-year-old is coming off a brilliant season which saw her capture three titles on the secondary Symetra Tour in the US to earn her LPGA tour card for 2018.

In her last start she fired a final round 65 to take fifth place in the Tour Championship in Florida and jump to second on the money list.

After playing a practice round at Royal Perth, where she played many times as a local junior, Green predicted it would be pretty tough going.

"Some of these holes are pretty long, especially with the wind," Green said.

"In my practice round I'm getting out-driven by like 60 yards.

"Some people might have expectations of me but I have no expectations or goals that I have to achieve in this tournament."

Distance aside, Green's precision play and sparkling form should help keep her in the hunt to make the cut - which was her goal for the tournament.

"I was glad my last round of the Symetra was one of the best of my career so hopefully I can hit as many fairways and greens just like I did in that round," she said.

"I'm playing the best I have ever so this has got to be my best opportunity ever to make the cut at a WA Open."

Green's partner, 21-year-old fellow West Australian Jarryd Felton, who won the NZ PGA Championship this year, is also teeing up.

Green said he was feeling more pressure than her.

"It will be a bit more embarrassing if I beat him than if he beats me but he's hitting it really well so it should be a great week for both of us."

The tournament field features four previous winners of the tournament, highlighted by defending champion Curtis Luck and Brett Rumford, who will bid for a second title on his home course.
