Harford to take over as Blues AFLW coach

Former Hawthorn and Carlton player Daniel Harford will take over as Carlton's AFLW senior coach.

Former AFL player Daniel Harford will take over as Carlton's AFLW coach in the wake of their disastrous season.

The announcement comes a month after Damien Keeping left the job.

Big things were expected of the Blues in the second women's season, but they finished a game clear in last spot.

Harford, now a media commentator, had joined the Magpies' AFLW team this season as an assistant coach.

He played 153 games for Hawthorn between 1995-2003 and nine games for the Blues in 2004.
