Hartigan signs new AFL contract with Crows

Defender Kyle Hartigan has signed a three-year contract extension with his AFL club Adelaide.

Adelaide defender Kyle Hartigan has signed a three-year contract extension with the AFL club.

The 25-year-old was recruited by Adelaide in the 2012 rookie draft and has since become a mainstay in the backline of the ladder-leaders.

"I'm loving this footy club and they gave me the opportunity to play AFL footy so I didn't really have much hesitation at all to sign on," Hartigan told reporters on Monday.

"I'm rapt to be here for the next three years."

Hartigan, who has played 60 games for the Crows, opted not to wait the outcome of the AFL's next collective bargaining agreement with the players.

"I was happy with the deal ... put it away, put it to bed and get on with the rest of the year, and focus on footy," he said.

"We have got a really good group and I have got really good relationships here with the players and coaches.

"The future is pretty bright at the footy club, we have got success on the horizon."
