Furniture and electrical goods retailer Harvey Norman will not hold a traditional analyst briefing to discuss its first-half financial results, which is highly unusual for a publicly-listed company.

Harvey Norman recently sent an email to analysts saying there would be no briefing because all the information would need and get would be in the presentation material provided, a retail analyst told AAP.

The company, which is set to report its interim results later on Tuesday, was not immediately available to comment.
