Harvey, Singleton swoop on Sydney hotspot

A private consortium backed by businessmen Gerry Harvey and John Singleton has bought Sydney's Entertainment Quarter for $80m.

Businessmen Gerry Harvey and John Singleton are set to become the new owners of one of Sydney's most popular entertainment venues.

A private consortium the pair are involved with has snapped The Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park, in the city's east, for $80 million.

CFS Retail Property Trust sold the venue to a consortium headed by the private equity fund run by the two high profile businessmen and investor Mark Carnegie.

The site features shops, a cinema complex and offices and sits next to the Sydney Cricket Ground and Fox Studios.

The deal is conditional on the NSW government's approval.
