His own future may be up in the air but

Speculation is rife Wests Tigers are monitoring Woods' situation at the Bulldogs after the joint venture's captain claimed his four year deal from 2018, signed in April, had only been provisionally registered as the NRL waits to see if Canterbury are salary cap compliant.

The Bulldogs are believed to be attempting to offload several star players including skipper James Graham and siblings Brett and Josh Morris to get under the salary cap for 2018.

But Hasler quickly dismissed the notion Woods was not joining Canterbury next year.

"He's been offered a contract and that contract will go through," said Hasler, who is preparing the Bulldogs for their clash with Gold Coast on Saturday.

Hasler faces an anxious wait himself despite in April re-signing with Canterbury for two seasons.

He is hoping to win their final two games to ease renewed pressure.

The wily Bulldogs mentor could be axed after the Canterbury board election in February with a rival ticket headed by club greats gathering momentum.

Manly's Trent Barrett is the early frontrunner to replace Hasler who arrived at Canterbury in 2012.

Hasler has also been linked to this weekend's foe, the embattled Gold Coast, after the Titans sacked coach Neil Henry on Monday.

He typically shut down any rumours about his future but admitted he felt for Henry after enduring a similar public ordeal before re-signing this year.

"It's all speculation. I have a two year contract with Canterbury," Hasler said.

"It (coach sackings) is always a part of the landscape.

"While I am not privy to the different aspects that went on (at the Titans), it's never an easy one."

The early signs are good for Hasler after Canterbury bounced back to their best, thrashing Manly 30-16 last round.

It was their eighth win in 22 games.

And Canterbury will fancy their chances of back to back wins lining up against a Titans side still reeling from Henry's dumping.

"I was happy with the way the game flowed, happy with the way we were able to utilise possession once we controlled it," Hasler said of their last-round triumph.

"Now I would definitely like to finish on a high."
