Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway is in negotiations to replace Reese Witherspoon in a new comedy with Robert De Niro.

Witherspoon pulled out of The Intern last month, citing scheduling difficulties.

Now Hathaway has been tipped to take over the role in the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

If she signs on, the actress will play an online business owner who is assigned a retiree (De Niro) as an intern.
