Have some fun, Pisasale tells Qld minister

With the same blonde wig he donned when acting as Police Minister Jo-Ann Miller's sister, Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale has made a half-hearted apology.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale has continued to play the joker during a half-hearted "apology" after mocking Queensland Police Minister Jo-Ann Miller.

The simmering rivalry between the pair took a bizarre turn on Wednesday when Mr Pisasale donned a blonde wig and sunglasses in an online video and started impersonating Ms Miller's sister.

In a shrill voice, while swigging from a can of beer, he said Ms Miller "had to be kicked out of home because she just bullied me".

"I slept with the mayor," he also joked.

Mr Pisasale was far from contrite about his stunt on Thursday, putting on the same blonde wig and insisting it was harmless fun.

"Jo-Ann have some fun. We're going to work together Jo-Ann, don't worry," he said, again in a high-pitched voice. "(Premier) Annastacia (Palaszczuk), it's all cool."

Mayor of Ipswich since 2004, Mr Pisasale was a guest of The Queensland Times' GenY Podcast on Wednesday when his strange attack began.

"We really had to kick her out of home because she just bullied me, and she said she's going to leave home and she wants to beat up the Mayor of Ipswich," Mr Pisasale joked, as the three presenters erupted into laughter.

An online poll showed 70 per cent of The Queensland Times' readers believed the mayor's act was "just a bit of fun".

Ms Miller's office says she is aware of the video, but has declined to comment.

The episode is the latest in a bitter stoush between Ipswich's two political heavyweights.

It was sparked early this month by the expected relocation of the Ipswich police communications centre, which Mr Pisasale said would happen "over my dead body".

Last week, it was revealed Ms Miller allegedly tried to convince Deputy Mayor Victor Attwood to mount a coup against Mr Pisasale when he was under investigation by the state's corruption watchdog.

The mayor was cleared of any wrongdoing and Ms Miller denied Mr Attwood's accusation in parliament.
