Actress Salma Hayek's younger brother has been taken to hospital in Los Angeles following a car accident which killed his passenger.
Sami Hayek, 40, was driving along Sunset Boulevard in Holmby Hills on Sunday when he lost control of his car as it veered into an oncoming truck, according to the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division.
Hayek was taken to the hospital with several broken ribs and a head laceration. His unidentified 43-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the New York Daily News.
The driver of the truck, Alvin Javier Gomez, was transported to a nearby hospital after suffering a broken foot.
Police are investigating the accident and no arrests have been made.
