The San Francisco 49ers continue to play a cat and mouse game with Jarryd Hayne, refusing to say if the Australian will play the Minnesota Vikings.
Head coach Jim Tomsula did reveal one thing: Hayne and his teammates have been told if they are playing or not on Monday (Tuesday AEST).
"Oh yeah, they've known," Tomsula told reporters on Saturday. "Everybody knows that they'll play."
The 49ers will host the Vikings for their NFL regular season opener and Tomsula said he wanted to keep his opponents in the dark about his lineup.
"We dont need to give bulletin boards where people can study everybody's every movement," Tomsula said.
The teams will be announced 90 minutes before kick-off.
Tomsula was asked if the 49ers, after all of the publicity surrounding Hayne, have been contacted by athletes in other sports hoping to join the NFL team.
The coach said there had been interest from cross-over athletes long before Hayne arrived.
"Well, yeah that was before anybody ever heard of Jarryd Hayne in America," he said.
"Yeah, that's just constant. "That's always happened. "So, DVDs, you get sent a lot of stuff, you do."
