Lord's centurion Travis Head says he's happy to remain at the top of the order for Australia after scoring 106 in an emphatic warm-up win over Middlesex.
Head was promoted up the order alongside D'Arcy Short with vice-captain Aaron Finch moving down to five.
And Head, who scored his only ODI century when opening the batting, is keen to stay put.
"If you are in form and getting runs, hopefully you'll stay there," Head said.
"We want guys winning games of cricket and we've got match-winners throughout the order.
"In white-ball cricket, every batter is going to say they will want to bat as high as they can.
"It's awesome going out there against the new ball, two fielders (only) out and you get the best of the wicket.
"I'm happy to do whatever it takes to keep playing cricket in the Australian cricket team.
"I just need to make sure I'm playing really well and whatever role I get, do it to the best of my ability."
Head has spent the last two months playing county cricket for Worcestershire and the left-hander believes it will be a significant advantage for him going into the five one-day matches against a top-ranked England side.
"It's been fantastic. I've really enjoyed the red-ball stuff," he said.
"I've taken a lot out of it. I got a lot of starts and didn't get the one big score I would have liked.
"It was a really good lead-in to the series and I got some white-ball cricket in the last month, so it's been really good."
