Health-tech firm Orion targets 2018 profit

Health tech firm Orion says its annual loss dropped to $NZ54 million ($A50.6 million) from $NZ61 million on revenues of $NZ207 million.

Orion Health expects to become profitable in 2018 after demand for its technology outside its home territory helped lift full-year revenue 26 per cent.

Orion, a dual-listed New Zealand and Australian firm that offers patient health record management software, says it cut its annual loss to $NZ54 million ($A50.6 million) from $NZ61 million on revenues of $NZ207 million.

Contracts with customers, including UK pharmacy chain Boots and the French Ministry of Health, helped lift Europe, Middle East and Africa revenue 59 per cent to $NZ48 million, while North America revenue rose 32 per cent to $NZ125 million.
