The mother of former Carlton utility Lachie Henderson has taken aim at the club and AFL boss Gillon McLachlan over his unusual departure.
Henderson told the club on Thursday he wanted a trade and the Blues responded by telling him he had played his last game for them.
McLachlan weighed in on Friday, saying Henderson's decision was unnecessary and undisciplined.
Vonnie Henderson fired back, saying her son wanted to play out the end of the season and was prepared to do so in the VFL.
"At no stage did he say he didn't want to play out the season," she told 3AW.
"That was not his choice - that was directly from Carlton.
"He would have loved to have played the season out."
Predictably, she was also unimpressed at McLachlan's comments.
"I think it was completely and utterly out of line to make a comment like that, she said.
Henderson is understood to want a trade to Geelong.
