Henry brought back for injured Southee

Tim Southee has been ruled out of the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka with a foot injury suffered in the eight-wicket defeat on New Year's Eve.

Fast bowler Matt Henry has been brought back into the Black Caps' ODI side after an injury to Tim Southee.

Southee, who was rested for the first two one-dayers against Sri Lanka, injured his left foot in the eight-wicket defeat in Nelson on Thursday.

Coach Mike Hesson said the extent the injury was not yet known.

"Tim felt pain in his left foot early in the second innings and was forced to come off.

"We're not sure of the nature of the injury at this point and will need to find out more information over the coming days," he said.

Henry played a starring role with the ball to help New Zealand take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series before he was replaced in the squad by Southee.

The fourth one-dayer is on Saturday in Nelson.
