High security for Anzac Day blockbuster

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says there will be "many more" police at the MCG for the Anzac Day clash between Essendon and Collingwood.

There will be a big police presence at the MCG for the traditional Anzac Day blockbuster after the terror raids in Melbourne.

Five men were arrested on Saturday over an alleged plot to attack police at Anzac Day services.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says the Essendon-Collingwood AFL game would attract a high level of security, as would other Anzac Day events.

"There will be many more police at the MCG," Mr Andrews told SEN radio on Wednesday.

"Everything that can be done is going to be done."

Police have promised an unprecedented security presence on Saturday for the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing.
