Brilliant Highlanders five-eighth Lima Sopoaga has recovered from a training mishap and will take his place in the side for Saturday night's Super Rugby semi-final against the NSW Waratahs at Allianz Stadium.
Sopoaga sent a scare through the Highlanders' camp when he limped off at training on Thursday, but coach Jamie Joseph said the playmaker was good to go against the defending champion Waratahs.
"He's fine. He just twisted his knee - it's a wee bit of a one off," Joseph said on Friday in Sydney.
"It was a wee bit of a scare for everybody, but he's fine and he's going to train today."
Co-captain Ben Smith spoke to a relieved Sopoaga before the team's media session at Coogee.
"He's really excited about the challenge tomorrow. I think his body feels fine today and, as Jamie said, it was just a bit of a scare at the time.
"Sometimes, you just get a few things that you think are bad at the time, but give them a couple of hours and they come right and I think, for Lima, that was the case for him."
Sopoaga has formed a lethal combination with All Blacks and Highlanders halfback Aaron Smith this season and losing either one of them would have spelled disaster for the Otago-based side.
