Hireme missing from Kiwi Ferns

NZ will be without dual internationals Honey Hireme and Charlotte Scanlon for the women's rugby league Anzac Test against Australia.

Dual internationals Honey Hireme and Charlotte Scanlon will be missing from the New Zealand women's rugby league team to face Australia next month.

Hireme and Scanlon are on duty with New Zealand Rugby's sevens program, and new coach Alan Jackson will also be without skipper Sarina Fiso, who injured her knee in the final game of the Auckland Nines in February.

Fiso has been included in the squad for her experience, but is unlikely to take the field.

Also missing from the line-up that defeated world champions Australia in Wollongong last year are Australia-based Chloe Leaupepe and Chanel Huddleston, who was also part of the successful nines campaign.

A squad of 24 has been named for the Anzac Test on May 1 in Brisbane, with their first training camp in Auckland this weekend.

Kiwi Ferns: Katarina Allen, Shontelle Dudley, Maitua Feterika, Sarina Fiso, Teuila Fotu-Moala, Georgia Hale, Iriana Huriwai-Sasulu, Sita Kuruyabaki, Nora Maaka, Kelly Maipi, Laura Mariu, Lilietta Maumau, Krystal Murray, Kimiora Nati, Hilda Peters, Rona Peters, Kahurangi Peters, Krystal Rota, Kristina Sue, Tasha Tapu, Crystal George-Tamarua, Atawhai Tupaea, Janna Vaughan, Sharnita Woodman.
