Hit-run leaves WA woman with head injuries

Two bicycle riders in their 20s have been involved in a hit-run incident, leaving one with serious head injuries.

A female bicycle rider has received serious head injuries after a hit and run incident in Western Australia.

The woman in her 20s was riding alongside a male bicycle rider when they were both struck from behind by a vehicle along Marine Tce.

The car continued to drive in an easterly direction and did not stop.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, in a suburb outside of Perth, at around 11.15pm on Saturday.

Both riders were treated at the scene before being rushed to Busselton District Hospital.

The woman was later airlifted to Perth as her health deteriorated.

She also received a leg injury.

The male, also in his 20s, received minor injuries.

The car has been described as a large dark coloured four-wheel drive with possible windscreen damage.

Major Crash Investigators are seeking anyone with information or has dash cam or CCTV footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
