Hobart body could be that of missing woman

Police have found a woman's body washed up near Hobart in the same suburb where an elderly woman went missing from a retirement village.

A body found on a suburban Hobart foreshore could be that of an elderly woman reported missing from a nearby retirement village.

Police made the discovery on Monday morning near Mitcham Avenue at Claremont and are seeking information from anyone who may have seen a woman at a cliff top area in the vicinity since Saturday.

They have not formally identify her but on Sunday distributed a missing person alert for Judith Ann Emery who lived in the same area and failed to show up for a regular meeting.
