Hoceyroos beat Germany in Singapore

The Hockeyroos beat Germany 3-1 in Singapore on Thursday in the third match of their International Tri Nations campaign.

The Hockeyroos have beaten Germany 3-1 in the third match of their International Tri-Series campaign in Singapore.

Goals from Brooke Peris and Georgie Parker and a penalty corner drag flick from Georgina Morgan helped an experimentally side see off an inexperienced German outift to record a first win of the competition having drawn and lost their opening two fixtures.

Australia will face Olympic champions Netherlands in the final match of the round-robin formatted competition on Saturday (AEDT).

Adam Commens has been using the tournament as the chance to look at some of the younger players who are part of the Hockey Australia as he builds towards naming his squad for the Rio Olympics later this year.

"Obviously the Dutch are the benchmark and Germany are an improving nation, however, tonight our pressure on the ball was excellent and our ability to go direct and create goal scoring opportunities was also very positive," Commens said.

"It's a thoroughly deserved win for our team.

"During this trip there has been lessons learnt with the younger players experiencing top level international hockey, while also being able to adapt quickly to a new environment."
