Hockey considers special tax zone for NT

Treasurer Joe Hockey says he is considering a special tax zone for the Northern Territory.

The federal government is considering a special tax zone for the Northern Territory.

But Treasurer Joe Hockey says the move needs to be carefully considered in the context of the government's tax white paper.

"In terms of the overarching opportunities in Northern Australia, a special tax zone is worthy of consideration," he told ABC Radio in Darwin on Wednesday.
