Treasurer Joe Hockey says there will be some "pressure points" in the global economy over the next months.

Mr Hockey, who will attend next month's G20 finance ministers' meeting in Turkey, said the government was keeping a close eye on the United States as it considers lifting interest rates.

"There is a danger in these sorts of moments you can have extraordinary equity flows ... (but) the Australian economy is incredibly robust as it continues to go through a transition," he told reporters in Canberra on Friday.
