Hockey to table tax avoidance bill

Treasurer Joe Hockey will introduce new tax avoidance laws next month aimed at clamping down on multinational tax dodging.

Draft laws clamping down on tax avoidance by multinational companies will be introduced to parliament in September.

Treasurer Joe Hockey says that from 2016 the companies will be required to reveal the tax they pay.

The legislation has been drafted in partnership with the UK government, he told Radio 3AW on Wednesday.
