Hockeyroo star Anna Flanagan has been given the all clear to compete at the Olympics, despite failing to disclose a drink driving conviction.

Flanagan's place in the Australian team for the Rio Games was under threat after it was discovered she did not inform either the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) or Hockey Australia that she had been caught drink driving at three times over the legal limit in March.

The 24-year-old London Olympian had signed a shadow team agreement form, which stipulates the AOC must be notified of all serious offences or pending legal cases.

However the AOC ruled on Friday that Flanagan could still represent the team, if selected, based on advice she had received from a lawyer.

"Her lawyers argued that the form related to serious offences only and advised her she was not required to disclose the charge," the AOC said on Friday.

The Hockeyroos are currently battling without the 166-capped defender in the Champions Trophy, having won just one of their four games as they failed to make the final in London.
