Hockeyroos clinch series win over Spain

Australia's women's hockey team have secured a draw in the fourth match against Spain to win the Test series.

The Hockeyroos have secured victory in their Test series against Spain following Sunday's 0-0 draw in Perth.

Australia went into the fourth game with a 1-0 series lead and maintained the advantage by holding out the tourists at Warwick Hockey Centre on Sunday.

Both sides had chances for a winner, with Hockeyroo Brooke Peris hitting the post from a penalty corner in the first quarter, before Berta Bonastre pushed a final-quarter opportunity wide for world No.11 Spain.

"It's obviously disappointing to not get the win. We were probably a bit sluggish coming off the game yesterday," Australian captain Kathryn Slattery said.

"We put together some really good patches of play going forward and if we were a bit more diligent up front we probably would've come away with the win.

"We've got a lot of learning points to bring out of this series moving forward especially with some big tournaments coming up."

The result followed Saturday's 3-2 victory, before 1-1 draws to begin the series.

Australia will continue their pre-Commonwealth Games campaign with a series against world No.8 China in February.
