Mariah Williams' first international goal has helped Australia beat host South Africa 4-1 in Cape Town and draw their three-Test women's hockey series.

Newcastle youngster Williams' 32nd minute goal put the Hockeyroos in command at 2-0 up following an earlier strike by Jodie Shulz before Kellie White and Georgia Nanscawen completed the commanding win with second half goals.

The result meant that the series finished even following a 3-3 draw in the first Test and a narrow 1-0 win by South Africa in the second.

The Hockeyroos will now continue their training camp in nearby Stellenbosch and will play the Netherlands in a series of unofficial practice matches over the next week.
