Hockeyroos win final World Cup warm-up

The Australian women's hockey team should head into the World Cup with confidence after two warm-up wins.

Hockeyroos defender Georgina Morgan marked her competitive return from injury with the winning goal as Australia rounded out their 2018 World Cup preparations with a 2-1 win over England.

Morgan hadn't played for Australia since last year's World League semi-final due to a foot injury.

However the 25-year-old now appears to be fit and finding form ahead of Australia's World Cup campaign opener against Japan on Sunday (AEST).

Morgan scored the winner Wednesday night after the hosts had equalised Rosie Malone's first quarter opener.

The Hockeyroos had also recorded a 3-0 win over India in Monday's practice match at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre.

The Hockeyroos, who were World Cup runners-up in 2014, are in Pool D against Japan, Belgium and New Zealand.
