Queensland coach Mal Meninga has called Dane Gagai into his squad after centres Justin Hodges and Greg Inglis failed to train on Thursday.

But the Maroons mentor is confident fullback Billy Slater will pass a fitness test on Saturday after chiming into training at their Gold Coast camp.
