Hogan rejoins Demons for AFL training

The death of Jesse Hogan's father late last week meant the Melbourne key forward missed the win over Essendon.

Melbourne key forward Jesse Hogan has returned to the AFL club, a week after the death of his father.

It remains unclear whether Hogan will play in Sunday's match against Hawthorn, with a decision to be made later in the week.

Hogan missed last Sunday's upset win over Essendon because of the family bereavement.

Coach Simon Goodwin said after the match that their first priority was Hogan's welfare.

Hogan had a light training run with teammates on Tuesday, but more will be known after Thursday's main session.

It has been a tumultuous start to the season for Hogan, who was suspended for two matches.

The club brushed aside media reports of Hogan being seen in public smoking during his ban.

He returned for one match following the suspension before his father Tony died after a long illness.
