Holden's lion is roaring louder than ever with the manufacturer becoming the first to claim 500 V8 Supercars race wins.
Shane van Gisbergen sealed the record-setting triumph at Symmons Plains on Saturday, coming 47 years after the badge's first.
'Stormin' Norm Beechey earned Holden's first touring car success at the Surfers Paradise International Raceway in August 1969 in a HK Monaro GTS 327.
Monaros and Toranas claimed the first 50 triumphs but it's with the Commodore that Holden has truly taken flight, winning 450 races since their introduction to the sport in 1980.
Van Gisbergen is among 41 drivers to contribute to the milestone, with Red Bull team principal Roland Dane welcoming the milestone.
"I am extremely proud that it was Triple Eight Race Engineering and Red Bull Racing Australia that brought up Holden's 500th championship race win," Dane said.
"My relationship with General Motors goes back over 20 years and it is a privilege to race under the Holden umbrella and very special to bring the 500th victory to the brand."
The current model - the Commodore VF - looks to be as competitive as ever in 2016.
While the V8 Supercars series feels wide open after four different winners - Van Gisbergen, Nick Percat, James Courtney and Jamie Whincup - in the opening four races of the season, they've all piloted Commodores.
The venue also seemed a fitting place to achieve the triumph - Symmons Plains also hosted Holden's second, 100th and 400th race victories.
Craig Lowndes leads the list of race winners in a Holden with 65 wins, with Garth Tander second with 53.
Holden motorsport boss Simon McNamara said the entire company delighted in the milestone.
"Holden's record 500 championship race wins have come from many different eras and formulas, from Improved Production, to Group C, the Group A world category, the V8-only regulations, to today's Car of the Future platform," he said.
"We are extremely proud of Holden's ability to tackle the changes of each era head on."
