Holmes right to play Cowboys

Cronulla star Valentine Holmes is expected to be fit for Saturday night's NRL semi-final against North Queensland despite struggling with a quad injury.

Holmes left the field with 20 minutes to play in the Sharks' elimination final win over South Sydney last weekend and didn't return.

However the injury has progressed well this week and Holmes is likely to be fit to take on the Cowboys in Townsville.
