Captain Travis Boak says it's time for some home truths about Port Adelaide's wobbling AFL season.
Boak has blasted Port's work rate in Sunday's loss to Brisbane as "nonexistent" and challenged his teammates to examine their efforts.
"We need to have a good, hard look at ourselves," Boak told reporters on Monday after Port slipped to a three-four win-loss record.
"And really speak honestly with each other about it because what we produced on the weekend is nowhere near what we expect.
"What we have really prided ourselves on and got us back to where we wanted to be was through hard work - and right now, it's nonexistent."
The Power host Richmond on Sunday with midfielder Ollie Wines set to return from a broken wrist.
Port players were still smarting from coach Ken Hinkley's criticism of their efforts in the 37-point loss to the Lions, rated by the Power mentor as the worst defeat in his three years at the club.
"It hurts. We have certainly let him down," Boak said.
"We have let the group down. We have let the fans and club down.
"And it hurts because we pride ourselves on hard work for so long, and you go away from that and you get these results.
"We know the answer. We know what to do. It's just a matter of making a choice now and turning it around."
The Power have added incentive with Sunday to be Port stalwart Kane Cornes' 300th and final AFL game.
"We need to make sure we turn our season around and get that form back and get that hunger back," Boak said.
"But certainly it's a massive week for Kane. We want to send him out on a great note ... hopefully we can make it a special day for him."
