Hong Kong, Netherlands in Twenty20 finals

Hong Kong and the Netherlands have claimed the last two places in the 16-team World Twenty20 cricket championship to be played in Bangladesh.

Hong Kong and the Netherlands notched easy victories in the qualifiers on Thursday to book the last two places in next year's World Twenty20 cricket championship.

Ireland, Afghanistan, Nepal and United Arab Emirates have already qualified for the event in Bangladesh in which 16 teams will participate.

Hong Kong defeated Papua New Guinea by 29 runs at Abu Dhabi in the playoffs for a maiden appearance in the World Twenty20.

Babar Hayat made 48 in Hong Kong's total of 9-137, while PNG folded for 108 in 19.1 overs as 41-year-old leftarm spinner Munir Dar took 3-26.

Netherlands chased down the 148-run target against Scotland in 17.5 overs with wicketkeeper Wesley Barresi scoring an unbeaten 75 off 47 balls.
