Greenpeace is hoping international pressure is mounting on Russia to release its ship 'Arctic Sunrise' and its crew, who were detained over oil rig protests last month.

Some of the activists had been trying to climb onto an Arctic offshore drilling platform owned by the Russian gas company Gazprom.

Russia says the protestors infringed on its sovereignty and posed a potential environmental threat in the area.

Greenpeace Australia Pacific Campaigner, Reece Turner, told Rachelle Alchin there is international support for the ship and crew to be released.
