Hopes synod on families will bring change

Pope Francis is leading the Roman Catholic Church through a rare review of its teachings on issues facing families.

The Synod provides bishops and cardinals from around the world with an opportunity to address the divide between what the church says on issues including marriage, divorce, and contraception - and what millions of Catholics actually do.

Rob Brian from the group, Australian Reforming Catholics, has told Greg Navarro he hopes the two-week meeting in the Vatican will result in change.
