Australia's new Wallabies captain James Horwill says his 'unique' team can win the Rugby World Cup next month.

In an interview Horwill said he is excited to have been given the opportunity to lead the squad and added it was unexpected after his injury last year.
Robbie Deans announced the squad this morning dropping Rocky Elsom as captain in a surprise move.

Horwill said Elsom was a "great friend of his" and someone he could speak honestly with. He added he would be calling on his leadership skills in the coming days and weeks.

"He has been outstanding. He is very important to the team," added Horwill.
